Labor Day weekend plans scheduled

From pancake breakfast to cruise night, Saturday has it all.

From pancake breakfast to cruise night, Saturday has it all.

You might want to start your Labor Day Weekend Saturday with a short drive to Canadian for a pancake breakfast.

Then enjoy a car show at Kiwanis Park in Eufaula starting at 10 a.m..

Help the community build a splash pad by attending a fundraiser at 11 a.m.

Then in the evening enjoy Cruise Night and burnout.

Cap the day with a fireworks show at No. 9 Marina in Longtown.

And of course, the County Fair will still be going on.

Pancake Breakfast

The Auxiliary of Arrowhead Estates will host its annual Labor Day Pancake Breakfast on Saturday starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 11 a.m. in Canadian at the fire station.

They will serve pancakes, eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy. Juice and coffee will be served also. Price is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10.

All veterans eat free.

Everyone is invited. Contact the Auxiliary if you would like to volunteer and/or make a donation in advance.

Please leave your pets at home.

Car show

The lineup of activities kicks off at 10 a.m. with a 3 Eights Car/Truck/Bike Show in Kiwanis Park. The event lasts until 2 p.m. Registration is from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Call 918-617-1587 for more information.

Splash pad

From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. the City of Eufaula will host a fundraiser to help pay for a splash pad. The event will take place in the Bank of Eufaula parking lot and will include a pie in the face event, a water balloon fight and a concession stand.

Cruise and burnouts

Cruise Main Street and be awed by a burnout at 412 Lakeshore Drive (former Katt Daddy’s Cove parking lot). The activities are from 6 p.m. till dusk. They are sponsored by PhD Pharmicated, Eufaula Chamber of Commerce, Twin Cities Ready Mix and Xtreme RV Resort.

Fireworks

End the day with fireworks at No. 9 Marina in Longtown at dusk.

County Fair

The annual McIntosh County Fair is being held at the fairgrounds in Eufaula Sept. 1-4.

Wednesday, Sept. 1

1 p.m. to 6 p.m.: 4-H, Kids Corner, & Open Class Exhibits Accepted at the Exhibit Hall

Thursday, Sept. 2

9 a.m. to noon: Exhibits will be judged. Exhibit Hall open to the public 1-6 p.m.

5 p.m.: Chicken Show and Rabbit Show (after Chicken Show)

Friday, Sept. 3,

9 a.m.: Exhibit Hall open to the public

4 p.m.: Exhibit Hall closed

Saturday, Sept. 4

8 a.m.: Entry & Weigh in cards must be turned in.

8:30 a.m.: Exhibit Hall opens.

9 a.m.: County Livestock Show begins (Show order: hogs, goats, sheep, and cattle)

12 p.m. – 1 p.m.: Exhibits are released from Exhibit Hall (Must be picked up by 1:00)
