Aviators in need of fuel will be happy to know that a new fueling tank was installed last week at the Eufaula Municipal Airport, thanks to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Aviators in need of fuel will be happy to know that a new fueling tank was installed last week at the Eufaula Municipal Airport, thanks to the Federal Aviation Administration.
“We hope this added amenity will increase air traffic and spur additional economic development and tourism for the area,” City Manager Jacob Foos said.
The project cost $316,325, with the FAA paying 90 percent of that amount and the city paying the rest.
The fuel that is being dispensed is 100LL Aviation Gas.
Foos said the Oklahoma Corporation Commission is processing the final paperwork to authorize the sale of fuel. That is expected to be complete by the first week of September, and then the City will begin offering fuel for sale.
The fueling system is entirely self-service and will be available for pilots 24/7.
The system is just like fueling up a car at a gas station with a few extra steps specific to fueling an airplane.
