This past week we celebrated the Ascension of Jesus, when he appeared to his disciples for the last time after his Resurrection, took them out to the top of a local hillside and was bodily raised up into heaven (Luke 24:50-53, Acts 1:6-14). Right before disappeared from their sight, Jesus said to his disciples, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” His disciples were filled with joy and praised God! Jesus had given them, and us, our marching orders! Now they must wait, and watch for this Holy Spirit.
