Eufaula Elementary School 3rd grade student Lainey LaFavor, 10, is among the contestants who will compete in the North American Miss Oklahoma Pageant July 5-6 at the Southern Hills Marriott in Tulsa.
The pageant is held for girls ages four to 18 who compete in five different age divisions.
Lainey, who is in the 10-12 year-old division, is the daughter of Amanda Dewhirst.
If she wins, Lainey will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the national Pageant to be held in Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif.
She will also tour Hollywood and represent the State of Oklahoma for a year.
Contestants will compete in four categories, including formal wear modeling, personal introduction, interview and community service projects.
Lainey stays busy with a variety of activities, including dance, cheerleading and gymnastics.
She enjoys school, playing with hair and make-up, spending time with friends and, most of all, competing in pageants.
