A rural McIntosh County man was given a five-year deferred sentence last week after pleading guilty to cruelty to animals.
Vincent Leon Williams, 55, who lives near Henryetta, was ordered by Associate District Judge James Pratt to be under the supervision of the district attorney for two years and to pay a $200 fine plus court costs.
A witness driving on North 2960 Road in the northwest part of the county noticed a dead horse in a pasture and notified the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy investigating the case found four dead horses.
While searching the
property, investigators say they saw no sign of grain or hay.
