Three Eufaula members of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation appeared in tribal court on Aug. 27 to answer charges of stealing funds from the tribe.
The three are former executives of the Eufaula Indian Community.
Former Chief Operating Officer Judd Pickering, 37, has been charged with stealing $42,517 from the EIC between May 5, 2016 and May 21, 2018.
Pickering’s case was continued to Sept. 24.
Former EIC Treasurer Twanna Susie Deere, 67, and former Administrative Assistant Lydia Anglin, 67, pled not guilty at their court appearances and waived the right to a speedy trial. Their next court appearance also will be held on Sept. 24.
Anglin allegedly stole $13,631 and Deere $6,350. The two were arrested July 17 and Pickering turned himself in on July 19.
Pickering was released on a $10,000 bond. Anglin and Deere were released on $5,000 bonds each.
