The Eufaula Lady Ironheads (3-10) broke things wide open with a thunderous fifth inning and never looked back, rolling to a commanding 9-0 victory over Checotah on Thursday.
Locked in a tight battle early, Eufaula flipped the switch in the fifth, erupting for six runs in a game-changing surge. Leah Green delivered the knockout punch with a towering tworun homer to center, igniting the dugout and the crowd. The Ironheads kept pouring it on from there—capitalizing on an error, then stringing together RBI hits from Aliyah Miller and Briley Gragg to turn a close game into a rout.
Eufaula had already set the tone in the second inning, manufacturing three runs behind timely hitting. Ava Neill sparked the rally with a double, Paizliegh Bird followed with a single, and Miller added another RBI on a fielder’s choice to give the Ironheads early control.
In the circle, Abby Box was in complete command. The Eufaula ace silenced Checotah’s bats, allowing just three hits over five shutout innings while not issuing a single walk. Calm, efficient, and in total control, Box set the defensive tone from the first pitch.
At the plate, the Lady Ironheads were relentless, piling up 11 hits. Maddison Lee led the charge with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, while Gragg, Green, and Miller each drove in two runs. Bird added pressure with patience at the plate, drawing two walks as Eufaula finished with six free passes overall.
Checotah managed hits from Aurora Madewell, Lexi Miller, and Elee Wilbanks and turned a double play defensively, but couldn’t generate the offense needed to keep pace with Eufaula’s explosive attack.
Green powers Lady Ironheads past Roland
Leah Green put on a show Thursday, racking up three hits—including a triple and double— to lead Eufaula to a commanding 10-2 win over Roland.
After Roland struck first, the Lady Ironheads answered immediately. Green’s RBI double and a Roland error flipped the momentum, and Eufaula never looked back. A three-run second inning—sparked by Rayleigh Peterson— blew the game open early.
Abby Box was steady in the circle, allowing just two runs over six innings to keep Roland in check.
Eufaula piled up nine hits and showed patience at the plate with 10 walks, while Peterson added two hits in support of Green’s standout performance.
Lady Ironheads battle early, but Beggs pulls away late The Eufaula Lady Ironheads showed grit at the plate and resilience in the middle innings, but a decisive fifth inning proved to be the difference in an 8-4 loss to Beggs on Tuesday.
Despite being outhit only slightly and matching Beggs with 10 hits apiece, Eufaula couldn’t overcome timely hitting and plate discipline from the Lady Demons, who used patience and clutch swings to take control late.
Eufaula’s offense showed consistency throughout the lineup, finishing with 10 hits. Leah Green and Briley Gragg led the charge with two hits each, while Green, Peterson and Kayman Cloud each drove in runs. The Lady Ironheads consistently put the ball in play and created opportunities but were unable to string together the timely hits needed in the later innings.
In the circle, Abby Box went the distance for Eufaula, working six innings while allowing 10 hits and eight runs (five earned). She issued six walks, which proved costly as Beggs capitalized on free baserunners throughout the game.
