On March 13 Muskogee County Dispatch received a call from a subject reporting the discovery of a body in a pond near the intersection of Hwy 100 and I-40 in Webbers Falls.

The Muskogee County Sheriff ’s Office, along with the Webbers Falls PD and Webbers Falls Fire Dept. responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Webbers Falls officers secured the area until the Muskogee County Sheriff ’s Office arrived and located the deceased male lying face up near the bank of the pond. At the time of discovery the body was not immediately identified.

The Chief Medical Examiner was called to the scene and preliminary findings indicated the individual to be missing person Erik Throne. Muskogee County investigations subsequently contacted the next of kin to provide notification and began their work in conjunction with the Chief Medical Examiner to make a positive identification.

As of March 23, 2026, investigators are awaiting the official report from the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.
