A Eufaula man who pre viously served prison time for a stabbing in Oklahoma has been arrested in Arkans a s , accused of attacking another woman in front of her children.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at the 1700 block of Carthage Street, Ft. Smith, around 8 p.m. on March 14.
According to an arrest report, Moody is accused of at-tacking a woman during a domestic incident in Fort Smith.
Authorities said they later arrested 32-year-old Benjamin Hartley Moody of Eufaula, Oklahoma.
Investigators said children were present during the alleged assault, leading to the additional child endangerment charges.
According to records, Moody has been charged with domestic battery in the first degree and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
Court records show Moody has multiple prior convictions in Oklahoma involving violent offenses:
• March 2022, McIntosh County: Convicted of assault with a deadly weapon and unauthorized use of a vehicle after authorities said he stabbed a woman multiple times and took her car.
Moody was sentenced to 30 years, with five years to serve and 25 years suspended. Records indicate he served about three years.
• May 2017, Comanche County: Convicted of assault on a correctional officer.
He was sentenced to five years in prison, followed by five years suspended, and served less than two years.
• May 2013, Mc-Intosh County: Convicted of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
He was sentenced to five years in prison, with one year suspended, and served about three years.
