DEATH NOTICES

CHECOTAH – David “D.A.” August Campbell, Jr., 84, entered eternal life peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, March 9, 2026, in Haskell, OK, after bravely battling COVID-19, pneumonia and lung cancer. A Celebration of David’s Life was held on Friday, March 13 at Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Checotah.

CHECOTAH – Bruce “Coconut” Littell, 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Integris Baptist Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. A Celebration of Life was held Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Mission Outreach Full Gospel Church in Checotah, OK.

EUFAULA – Paul Lemuel Hooten, 83, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026. A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 11 in the Serenity Chapel of Garrett Family Funeral Home in Checotah, OK.

PORUM – Margaret Belle Ashes, 84, gently departed from this life on Friday, March 6, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Porum, OK.

CHECOTAH – Brec Samuel Todd, 52, passed away Wednesday March 4, 2026, at Saint Luke’s Baylor Medical Center in Houston, TX. A Celebration of Life was held Friday, March 13 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Checotah, OK.

CHECOTAH – Clarence Charles Brock, Jr. 79, passed away at his home on Monday, March 2, 2026. A memorial service was held Monday, March 9 at Serenity Chapel of Garrett Family Funeral Home in Checotah, OK.

CHECOTAH – Flora Nell “Mimi” Waggoner, 86, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 28, 2026. A memorial service was held Thursday, March 5 at Garrett Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Checotah, OK.

CHECOTAH – Zane “Bubba” D. McGwire, 27, entered the gates of Heaven walking, talking, and smiling, straight into the arms of his nap partner and birthday twin, Papa. A celebration of Zane’s life was held on Wednesday, March 4 at Lindsey Chapel Baptist Church in Eufaula, OK.

STIGLER – Robbie Lee Davis, 69, peacefully passed from this life on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in Tulsa, OK. No services listed at this time.

TULSA – Ruby Floella Dismuke, 92, peacefully passed from this life on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in Tulsa, OK, surrounded by family. A memorial service was held Feb. 28 at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory in Eufaula, OK.

CHECOTAH – Gary Lee Nichols, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. A memorial service was held Tuesday, March 3 at First United Methodist Church in Checotah, OK.
