The Eufaula Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a community blood drive Monday, Feb. 23, at the Chamber office in Eufaula.
The drive was conducted in partnership with the Oklahoma Blood Institute, which provides blood products to hospitals across the state. OBI reports that blood is needed daily to meet ongoing demand for trauma patients, cancer treatments, surgeries and other medical emergencies.
According to OBI, each blood donation can help save up to three lives. The organization continues to encourage healthy adults who meet eligibility requirements to consider donating at future drives, noting that a stable blood supply is essential for patient care across Oklahoma.
Chamber officials expressed appreciation to those who took time out of their day to give and support the lifesaving effort.
