I will never understand

I will never understand

There are so many things messed up in this world today and so many things that I will never understand. Like how do people just walk away from a family pet that they’ve had three years or 13 years all because they are “moving to a place that doesn’t allow pets” or some other lame excuse. I’m sorry, but I will never understand that. Why would you get a place that doesn’t allow for all your family, including your fur babies? I do understand that sometimes there are special circumstances, but I hear that same excuse over and over again so much that I find it hard to believe. How can you leave behind your fur child that can’t even reason what he or she has done to deserve being left behind or even worse abandoned? I will never understand this because I am always rescuing what others toss out or decide to leave behind. I stay up all night worrying if they have enough food, water and shelter to survive. But you walk away?

This past Saturday I cried all the way to the facility over my 3-month-old foster rescue pup who was going out on transport to another foster to find his forever home. My heart ached realizing that after I bottle-raised him and his siblings and then fostered him for three months, he thought he was at his home. But since I already have ten personal animals and 12 or more TNR cats outside that I tend to regularly, adding one more to the mix is just not feasible long-term. Yet others don’t even consider that these poor fur babies have feelings too.

And as much as I love all my animals, I will never understand how we as a nation are not protecting our children as well. What is wrong with everyone? Are we seriously going to keep allowing privileged men to traffic our children all over the world? Are we going to keep ignoring the horrific sexual abuse and neglect of not just our children but God’s children? GOD FORBID IT!

I will never understand how America has gotten to this sickening state. But I do know one thing: when people can toss away or abuse their animals, it won’t be long before they abuse children, etc. This is why we must have stricter laws on animal abuse, neglect and abandonment. First it starts with just the animals, which is unacceptable in my book. Then abuse grows and targets innocent children and women and that is even more unacceptable not just in my book, but in His Book.

So I will never understand or accept this kind of abuse and I will always be a voice crying out against injustices. God help us all.
