Yes! No act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted. The Apostle Paul instructed the Church to “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32. Jesus commanded us to live like this, “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” Luke 6:35 Being kind is not just being good, it is a reflection of the God’s kindness applied in our lives. Here are 7 steps to human Kindness. It is not an exclusive list but I think it is helpful.
– Go last. Not second but last. Mark 9:33-27.
– From a Kingdom perspective your opinions are not a priority. Romans 14:10-14.
- People take priority over preferences. Philippians 2:1-4
- Don’t argue with people – just love them like Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:23-26
- Take every opportunity to live like Jesus- volunteer, serve, give sacrificially. Put yourself in new places, take risks to show kindness. Ephesians 5:1517
- Share the kindness. Let it flow through you into the lives of others. Make it contagious. 2 Corinthians 9:6-9
- Anger is does not make you right – it just makes you angry. James 1:19-20.
