What makes your testimony powerful is that it is your report what God is doing in your life. It is an eyewitness account of the grace and power of God. People are drawn to that.
In 1st John 1 John tells us this – “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life “ John tells us about what He saw, what He heard and what He had touched. The power of the Gospels is that they are the testimony of the people that were there, that met Jesus and saw His miracles and they testify to us. John does not tell us what someone else experienced but he tells us about his own.
When you tell people about what God is doing in your life and you testify about His goodness, love, grace and mercy – people listen. Tell your story and the people will be amazed! This does not need to be a prepared or rehearsed conversation, but it is always good to prepared to share it.
Peter tells us exactly how we should do it in 1 Peter 3:15-16.
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.”
