One of the best values for sportsmen in Oklahoma may just be the Land Access Permit, which hunters and anglers can use to access a number of high quality, privately-owned areas for outdoor pursuits.
The Land Access Permit is $100 for residents ($200 for nonresidents) and opens access to well over 300,000 acres of prime wildlife habitat leased by the Wildlife Department from private landowners. These include Honobia Creek and Three Rivers WMAs in southeast Oklahoma and Oklahoma Land Access Program (OLAP) properties. Oklahoma residents also gain access to the new 17,720-acre Herron Family Wildlife Management Area with the Land Access Permit in hand. The permit is required for hunting, fishing and otherwise using these areas.

About 17,720 acres has been leased by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation to establish the Herron Family Wildlife Management Area in southeastern Oklahoma. The area will be open this fall to Oklahoma residents. In addition to a hunting license, a Land Access Permit is required.
