Why does God love us?

One thing for certain God does not love us because of our goodness or because we are worthy of it.

The prophet Jeremiah accurately described us in Jeremiah 17:9,”The heart is deceitful and desperately wicked.” Paul said in Romans that none of us are righteous or good enough. If this is who we really are why does God love us?

1 John 4:8 tells us that “God is love.” God does not just love, but He is by very nature love. It is a primary characteristic of God and motivates everything He does. His love is expressed not by platitudes and empty promises, but by action.

Jesus said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, He sent His only begotten son…” God loves you enough to come for you. He expresses that love in deed. Love is who He is. Even in God’s anger toward us, anger that is justified and holy, He loves us.

God’s love is personal and free. He knows us deeply. His is a great and mighty love that has no beginning and no end and no condition.

It is the experiencing of God’s love and grace that causes Christianity to rise above all other faiths.

Why does God love us, because He is our Creator, our God and he given His Son as our Savior. Love is offered freely, but we must receive that love through faith in Christ. We would love to introduce you to Jesus, so that you can know Him and be part of God’s family.

I want to encourage you to visit First Baptist and see what God is doing in our Church.

First Baptist Church is located at the corner of 4th and Foley.

Morning Bible Study begins at 8:45 a.m., with our Morning Worship Service at 10 a.m. Our FBC Wednesday Nights meet at 6 p.m. with something for everyone from nursery to adults. Please visit our website is www.eufaulafbc.org.

Know that you are loved! Pastor J. Ingram First Baptist Church of Eufaula
