LECC men sing a Mother’s Day surprise. Most had never sung on stage before, but inexperience didn’t keep them from booming out their baritone, tenor, and bass voices in the Lake Eufaula Christian Church on Mother’s Day Sunday. Accompanied by guitarist Pastor Jeremy Little, they bellowed out the many verses of “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” concluding with “I’ll bring my hard-fought, heartfelt been-through-hell hallelujah. I’ll bring my storm-tossed, torn-sail story-to-tell — hallelujah/whoa-oh.God, You’ve been patient and God, You’ve been gracious, faithful, whatever I’m feeling or facing. I’ll bring my hard-fought, heartfelt, it-is-well, hallelujah (ooh) oh, hallelujah (mm, eh-ah, eh) Hallelujah!” The joy their song brought was evident in the congregation’s spontaneous standing ovation.
