OKLAHOMA CITY – District 2 McIntosh County Commissioner Monty Grider recently was honored by Keep Oklahoma Beautiful for his cleanup efforts around Lake Eufaula.
Grider and others who worked to clean up the state were recognized for their environmental advocacy at the 34th annual Environmental Excellence Celebration, Nov. 22, at the Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
All finalists and winners at the Environmental Excellence Celebration were honored at the 600-person event which featured presentations by Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell; Rob Singletary, Executive Director of Oklahoma DEQ; Tim Gatz, Executive Director of ODOT; and Victoria Tran, Oklahoma Deputy Secretary of Environment.
Major sponsors included Oklahoma DEQ, Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority and Chickasaw Nation.
