Another busy week in the district

Another busy week in the district
By REP. TIM TURNER

I started last Saturday June 21, bright and early at Stigler Reunion Days.

I kicked things off at the Haskell County GOP Tent, answering questions and catching up with friends and supporters. Then I had a blast checking out the Stigler Police Department’s Shooting Simulation trailer, where Assistant Chief John Vail gave citizens a hands-on look at realworld training.

I also got a chance to visit with candidates running for Choctaw Council. The Choctaw Nation continues to be a vital and valued partner in our community. Hats off to the Stigler Chamber of Commerce for organizing another incredible Reunion Days event! Later in the day, I met with several constituents about a road project that will make a real difference in Haskell and Pittsburg counties.

Tuesday June 24, I and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics Director Donnie Anderson met with leaders at Narconon Arrowhead Drug & Alcohol Rehab.

During the meeting, we learned about their recovery program and toured the facility. This year marks their 25th anniversary of helping Oklahomans recover from addiction.

Wednesday June 25, I met with former Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor and several constituents along with Sen. Avery Frix and Rep. Neil Hays. We discussed the wind energy projects near Lake Eufaula. At this time, those projects have been pulled.

Thursday June 26, I and Eufaula Mayor James Hickman were able to join the National Bass League and kick off the 2025 Lake Eufaula Bass Fishing Tournament.

These tournaments bring fishermen from all over the U.S. to Lake Eufaula.

We finished the evening at the McIntosh County GOP meeting where Mayor Hickman gave an update on the City of Eufaula, and I and Sen. Bryan Logan gave the 2025 legislative update.

I can’t close out the week without congratulating the Oklahoma City Thunder on winning their first National Basketball Association championship. Thunder up!

As always, serving you is a privilege, not a guarantee. My family and I are proud to have this opportunity. If I can help you in my capacity as your representative, please do not hesitate to contact me at the Capitol. My office phone is (405) 557-7375, and my email is tim.turner@okhouse. gov.
