The September and October luncheons of Friends of Eufaula Memorial Library have been cancelled because of the library being closed for updating.
Instead of the meetings scheduled for September 20 and October 18, the next luncheon will be coordinated with the library’s grand reopening celebration whiich will happen as soon as renovations are complete.
The Friends are responsible for the lakeside Storywalk and the Veteran’s Memorial outside the building’s 1st Street entrance. They support the library’s summer reading programs and raise funds for any special event not already funded in the li-brary’s budget.
Their goal is for their membership to include every person who ever checks out a book, a CD or DVD, or ever participates in one of the library’s artistic or literary programs. To join, contact FEML@gmail. com, or call the Friends’ president, Gail Rose at 918-770-2440, Yearly dues are $5.
