For the June 18 Primary Election, statewide election activity officially begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, when the candidate filing period opens, the Secretary of the McIntosh County Election Board said. The filing period closes at 5 p.m. Friday, April 5.
Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board.
McIntosh County Election Board Secretary Janelle McKnight said the following offices are expected to be filled this year: – U.S. Representatives – Corporation Commissioner – State Representatives – County Commissioner District #2 – County Court Clerk – County Clerk – County Sheriff Filing packets for all offices are available for download on the State Election Board’s website at https://oklahoma. gov/elections/candidates/ candidate-filing. Filing forms and information for county offices may also be obtained by contacting the McIntosh County Election Board at (918) 689-2452. Please read the information in the packet to verify that you meet the requirements to run for office.
The McIntosh County Election Board is located on the 1st floor of the County Courthouse at 110 N 1st, Eufaula OK, and is open regular hours from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. While the Courthouse closes at 4 p.m., the Election Board will remain open until 5 p.m. April 3-5 for candidate filing procedures.
