Q and A with Pastor J.
I think people sometimes wonder if God is so gracious then my faithfulness to him is not so important. If you feel this way then you are in a very one-sided relationship with God. In Galatians 5:22 on the fruit of the spirit is faithfulness. The Apostle Paul teaches us that a life that is filled with God’s Holy Spirit, is faithful to God and to others. Here are 4 ways that you can stay faithful to God and in your relationships.
1) Make a commitment to God’s standard. – “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.” Psalm 119:9
2) Be involved in your local Church – the connection that you develop with other believers helps keep you focus on being faithful.
3) Be accountable – Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12
4) Give/Serve as an extension of worship – Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 Thanks be to God who is forever faithful and empowers us to be faithful!
