Sharing is Caring but Teamwork makes the Dream Work
By SHYMEKIA ADAMS BRANCH MANAGER,

Eufaula Memorial Library

The recipe to having a perfect seasonal gathering is to have a large helping of good company, always adding a pinch of laughter, and a generous portion of activities and events from the Eufaula Memorial Library.

Uniting with others generally heals the heart and warms the soul, and to simply put it, it’s just plain fun.

The staff of the library is abundantly grateful to serve in a community that also shares in the idea that a united team (whether family, friends, or a community) works stronger longer.

This idea is highly visible and shows up in big numbers in Eufaula.

In building and presenting library programs and resources, we are happy to celebrate our collaboration with the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce, the Eufaula Area Arts Council, Eufaula Public Schools, our Friends of the Eufaula Memorial Library, and all of the community businesses and organizations that share in the growth of a thriving community.

Some upcoming events at the library are a Winter Wonderland Photoshoot, an adult wreath making craft, and teen Fundamentals of Sewing Class (making T-Shirt pillows).

We are hosting the production of the featured play “5 Ways to Survive The Holidays” presented by the Eufaula Youth and Performing Arts Club.

We have worked closely with the Eufaula Area Arts Council in helping the youth group build a program that they enjoy and confidently represent in the community.

The Friends of Eufaula Memorial Library have reconvened for the year and are holding monthly luncheons at the library. They are also open to new membership.

During the luncheon on Dec. 8, Maureen Mc-Cracken sang rockin’ Christmas hits with pianist Norman. They are also open for new members to join with them. Contact the library or Gail Rose at member. FEML@gmail.com.

To close out the year, join us in a special “Walk Down Memory Lane with the Library” community event.

Special attention and recognition will be given to previous librarians and supporters who have served as the building blocks for the Eufaula Memorial Library.

Please follow us on Facebook and visit our website at eols.org/eufaula for specific times and dates of these events and other activities.

Shymekia Adams is the branch manager of the Eufaula Memorial Library, a branch of the Eastern Oklahoma Library System.
