Native Heritage Art Show Nov. 18
Acclaimed Eufaula artist Jon Tiger will host a Native Heritage Art Show on Nov. 18 at the Eufaula Indian Community Center, 800 Birkes Road, in honor of Native American Heritage Month.
“This month gives people the chance to raise awareness of tribes and celebrate Native American history and their heritage,” Tiger said. “It’s an effort to show appreciation and acknowledgment for the unique contribution made by Native people.”
The Arts & Crafts Show and Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Artists will showcase their paintings, jewelry, beadwork, rock art. Leatherwork, clothing, pottery and more.
There is no admission charge. The event is free to the public.
This will be a chance for shoppers to find unique gifts for their special people.
In addition to the arts event there will be a fashion show and food sale at the Eufaula Community Center on High Street, also from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tiger said there will be an open mic to give everyone an opportunity to talk about Native history, military experiences, tribal stories and to give recognition of Eufaula Native people and their contributions.
Also, there will be a fashion show and food sale at the Center during & Crafts show.
The EIC senior citizens group will prepare food for sale.
The food will be traditional fare, including frybread, beans and pork and desserts, among other items.
Fashion designers will showcase their products at 1 p.m.
There will be ribbon shirts, vests, skirts and other handmade clothing for sale.
