A 19-year-old Webbers Falls motorist has died from injuries he received when he struck a tree that had fallen across a road, forcing him to hit a second tree.
Hayden Pearce was critically injured in the accident, which occurred on Sunday, Sept. 3, at about 11:20 a.m. in Muskogee County six miles east of Porum.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Pearce died the following day, Monday, Sept. 4, at about 6:30 p.m. due to massive injuries sustained in the accident.
The OHP report stated that Pearce was driving a 2008 Chevy Tahoe east on 253rd Street when the vehicle went over a hill and struck a tree that had fallen across the roadway. The vehicle then departed the roadway to the right and struck another tree.
Pearce was taken to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, where he later died.
Two passengers in the Chevy Tahoe were uninjured.
