Q & A with Pastor J.
There are close to two billion Christians on Planet Earth. We are separated by many things – location, tradition, denomination etc. However for the people that call themselves Christians we have a common purpose regardless of what could divide us.
Jesus summed our common purpose in Matthew 22:25-40, “One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. ’All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
The reason we as Believers have common purpose is that we love God. Worship and prayer are not acts of duty and obligation. They pour out of a heart filled with the love and grace of God. We love God because He first loved us. We love God as we serve, worship, play, celebrate and mourn. This is something that draws Believers together. We love God with our heart with God as our greatest devotion. We love God with our soul by pursuing obedience to His Word. We love God with our strength was we serve others in His name. I hope that you have encountered and accepted the great love God has for you in Jesus Christ.
We would love to meet you at First Baptist Church. Sunday worship is at 10 a.m. Our website is www.eufaulafbc.org.
Know that you are loved! Pastor J. Ingram
