I know this subject doesn’t pertain to sports but it should pertain to everyday living. Manners! That’s right, manners. Yes sir. Yes ma’am. Thank you. Let me open that door for you, young lady. The world would be a much better place with manners. Where does that begin? At home. I was fortunate enough to be raised in a house where you were taught to have manners, in a day when you asked permission to be excused from the dinner table. Recently I was walking up the steps to the post office when I noticed an older woman struggling to climb the stairs with a package in her arms and trying to open the door as another person looked on. Of course I was quick to offer my assistance to carry the package and open the door as I ushered her in by her arm. The woman thanked me and I replied “my mother raised me right.”
