As I awoke this past week to hear that Russia had indeed attacked Ukraine in the middle of the night my first response was fear. Fear of how America would need to respond, fear of our unknown future and fear of what time we have left on this earth. As I watched the news media reporting on the invasion and saw how desperate the people were to escape an uncertain death, I found myself praying for their safety and their freedom. These fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers are just like us in as much as they too want what’s best for their families. They need shelter, food and hope for a brighter future.
