The Checotah Lady Wildcats defeated Skiatook 48-32 on Thursday to move on in regional action on Saturday. It was a huge victory over Skiatook that gave Checotah momentum. After trailing 10-5 at the end of the first period and senior Vanessa Henson taken out of the game after being hit in the nose, the Lady Wildcats regrouped and outscored Skiatook 16-6 to take a 21-16 halftime lead. It was the great defensive play of Chloe Floyd, Alexis Hamilton, JayCi Lester and Bailey Todd that forced several turnovers and the return of Henson.
