Joyce Ann Northcutt Ables, 85, of Fayetteville, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Eufaula, Okla. on Aug. 8, 1933 to the late Clarence Ellington and Gladys Johnson Northcutt.

Joyce went to school at Onapa, Fame, Eufaula and Muskogee Business School.

She worked in Tulsa and Washington D.C. She was a long-time employee of the Lincoln County Nursing Home, a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and was a member of West End Baptist Church.

She met her husband, Louis Ables Jr., in Tennessee and was married at the First Baptist church in Eufaula. They started their married life in his hometown of Fayetteville, Tenn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Ables Jr., one sister, Bonnie Mosier and one brother, Jessie Northcutt.

Joyce is survived by her sons: Mike Ables, Terry Ables and Lonnie (Cindy) Ables, all of Fayetteville, Tenn. Sisters: Geraldine Davis of Sapulpa, Okla., Betty Wood of Eufaula, Okla., Reba Cardoza of Vacaville, Calif. and Roberta Zielke of Edmond, Okla.; brother: Leroy Northcutt of Canadian, Okla.; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
