Walk-Off Thunder: Lady Ironheads rally behind Green’s two-homer night
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

When the moment got big, so did the swing. In a game that had all the tension of a late-inning showdown, the Eufaula Lady Ironheads (1-7) delivered a thrilling walk-off victory Thursday night, storming back to defeat Muldrow 7-4 in dramatic fashion at the Oktaha Tigers Tournament.

Deadlocked at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth, Eufaula found its spark — and then some. After Kayman Cloud drove in a go-ahead run on a groundout, Leah Green stepped to the plate and delivered the knockout punch. The Lady Ironheads slugger launched a towering three-run home run to center field, igniting the crowd and sealing the comeback win in unforgettable style.

Green was unstoppable all night, blasting two home runs, a solo shot in the first inning and the game-winning three-run blast in the sixth, accounting for four RBIs and providing the firepower Eufaula needed.

Muldrow came out swinging early, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning behind a pair of singles, including an RBI hit from A. Duran. Eufaula answered quickly as Green’s firstinning solo homer evened things up.

The Lady Bulldogs regained control in the third inning when Hallie Nickson’s RBI single pushed their lead to 3-1, and they continued to pressure the Lady Ironheads throughout the game.

But Eufaula never backed down.

Behind a relentless offensive effort, the Lady Ironheads pounded out 12 hits, keeping the pressure on Muldrow’s defense inning after inning. Maddison Lee was perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2, while the team also flashed defensive strength by turning a key double play.

In the circle, Abby Box battled through six innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on 15 hits while keeping Eufaula within striking distance long enough for the offense to deliver late-game heroics.

Muldrow’s Jacee Dean also went the distance into the sixth, allowing seven runs on 12 hits, but couldn’t contain the Lady Ironheads’ late surge.

And when it mattered most, Eufaula rose to the moment.

With one swing, one rally, and one unforgettable finish, the Lady Ironheads proved once again they’re never out until the final out is recorded.

Lady Ironheads shut down by red-hot Valliant

The Lady Ironheads ran into a buzzsaw Thursday as Valliant exploded early and never looked back in a 9-0 win.

Valliant set the tone in the first inning when Braylee Dorries launched a two-run homer, then stayed hot at the plate with another home run in the second to fuel the surge. By the third inning, the Lady Dawgs had built a commanding lead and kept the pressure on with a 13-hit performance.

Eufaula showed flashes, with Briley Gragg and Leah Green each collecting a hit, and the Lady Ironheads played clean defense without an error. Maddison Lee led the way in the field.

Abby Box took the start in the circle for Eufaula, while Valliant’s Kylie Corley kept the Lady Ironheads’ bats quiet.

Lady Ironheads rally falls short against Stilwell

The Lady Ironheads showed grit but couldn’t climb out of an early hole, falling 7-3 to Stilwell on Thursday.

Stilwell struck fast and hard in the second inning, stringing together a flurry of hits to plate five runs and seize control. The Lady Indians added two more in the third to build a 7-0 cushion.

Eufaula refused to fold.

The Lady Ironheads chipped away late, showing patience at the plate with six walks and putting together timely hits. Rayleigh Peterson, Briley Gragg, Ava Neill, and Aliyah Miller each recorded hits, while Peterson and Maddison Lee drove in runs to spark the comeback effort. Eufaula also flashed defensive strength, turning a double play.

Abby Box battled through five innings in the circle, keeping Eufaula within reach despite the early surge.

Stilwell leaned on timely hitting from Alyssa Sevenstar and a perfect 2-for-2 performance from Kota Ross to maintain control.
