Ironheads explode early run past Canadian 14-5
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

The Eufaula Ironheads (15) came out swinging Friday night and never let up, powering past Canadian in their first commanding victory of the season, 14-5.

Eufaula wasted no time lighting up the scoreboard in the first inning. Fischer McAllister ripped a two-run single, a daring steal of home added another, and Kase Steele capped the rally with a two-run knock to give the Ironheads instant momentum.

The bats stayed hot in the second as McAllister laced a triple down the line, followed by another run scoring on a wild pitch and Yardeka Fields driving in a run with a triple of his own. By then, the Ironheads were rolling.

The knockout punch came in the fourth inning, when Eufaula erupted for six runs. Jax Williams delivered a clutch two-run double, while Steele, Beau Tarron, and Kace Bell each helped push runs across in a relentless offensive surge.

On the mound, Kace Bell delivered a dominant performance, striking out 12 over five innings to secure the win. Despite allowing five runs, Bell kept Canadian off balance all night with electric stuff.

At the plate, Eufaula racked up nine hits and showed patience with seven walks. Williams and McAllister led the charge with multiple hits, while Steele drove in three runs from the eight spot. The Ironheads also turned up the pressure on the base paths, swiping four bases and keeping Canadian’s defense on its heels.

With explosive offense, aggressive base running, and power pitching, the Ironheads put together one of their most complete performances of the season and made a loud statement in the process.

Ironheads clash, Hilldale pulls away early

The Eufaula Ironheads ran into a fast-starting Hilldale squad Monday, falling 9-1 despite flashes of fight in their season opener at home.

Hilldale wasted no time setting the tone, striking in the first inning with back-to-back doubles, including an RBI knock from Jace Paul. The momentum carried into the second and third innings as Hilldale continued to stack runs behind timely hits from Kyler Richardson, Case Leach, and Gunner Vandiver to build a commanding early lead.

Eufaula battled to respond, with Fischer McAllister and Kase Bell each collecting hits. McAllister also drove in the Ironheads’ lone run in a solid all-around effort at the plate.

On the mound, McAllister worked four innings, striking out five, while Hilldale’s Richardson kept Eufaula in check, allowing just two hits and one run over 4 2⁄3 innings while fanning six.

Hilldale’s aggressive base running proved to be a difference-maker, swiping six bases and keeping constant pressure on the Ironheads’ defense. Case Leach led the offensive charge with four RBIs, while the Hilldale defense played a clean game without an error.

Despite the setback, the Ironheads showed grit and will look to bounce back stronger in their next outing.

Other Scores:

Hartshorne topped Eufaula 7-5 on Thursday and Hilldale shutout Eufaula 14-0 on Tuesday.
