The City of Eufaula is partnering with the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce as a sponsor of community events in 2026, supporting efforts to bring more activity and energy to the community. The partnership is intended to bring more visitors to Eufaula, where they can support local restaurants and businesses and experience a historic downtown full of character, unique shops, art and activities.
“These events bring people into Eufaula and directly support our local businesses,” said City Manager Jacob Foos. “That increased activity translates into more customers for our restaurants and shops and helps strengthen our local economy.”
This is a particularly important year for the City to be involved, as the Chamber continues to build on established events such as Whole Hawg Days and the Whole Hawg Rodeo. The Chamber is also expanding efforts to host events throughout the year, to include fall and spring—times when local businesses benefit most from increased activity outside of peak lake months.
These events are not only important for attracting visitors, they are also part of what makes Eufaula a great place to live. Many are long-standing community traditions that residents look forward to and enjoy each year.
“These events are part of what brings our community together,” said Mayor James Hickman. “They’re something our residents enjoy, take pride in, and look forward to year after year.”
“We’re excited to build on the success of our existing events while creating new opportunities throughout the year,” said Chamber President Jay Hunn. “This partnership helps us expand our efforts to bring more people to Eufaula and support our local businesses.”
Whether it’s a longtime favorite or something new, these events create opportunities for residents and visitors alike to come together, enjoy the community, and experience everything Eufaula has to offer. From downtown to the lake, the goal is to continue building a community that people are proud to call home.
