What do I do when I am tempted to quit?
By Know that you are loved! Pastor J. Ingram ? First Baptist Church of Eufaula, OK,

Do you have a dream that seems to have passed you by? A relationship that has failed? A job that didn’t work out. A door that seems to have closed on you? Then you know the temptation to quit.

So, what do you do then? The Bible is full of failures, defeats, setbacks, and disappointments because it is the essence of being human. And God knows that because He knows us. The first thing I would say to encourage you when you are tempted to quit is don’t. Remember that success is never final, failure is not fatal, all that matters is the courage to continue. The Bible gives us hope when we are tempted to fail in Galatians 6:9 –“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” In James 1:12 –“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. God is with us and for us. When we are tempted to quit, we must rely on God’s strength and wisdom to finish well. Remember that God knows us and knows our struggle. We may be tempted and struggle – but we don’t have to go through it alone. We have a Savior who knows us!

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16 We would love to meet you and help you and you endure and overcome! I think you will find something special in our fellowship. Here you can find a place to grow close to God. First Baptist Church is located at the corner of 4th and Foley. Morning Bible Study begins at 8:45 a.m., with our Morning Worship Service at 10:00 a.m. Our Wednesday Night programs begin at 6 p.m. I would also like to invite you to visit our website at www.eufaulafbc. org.
