Millwood dominates Roland for Class 3A State Championship
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Millwood Falcons capped another dominant season Saturday, defeating the Roland Rangers 83-41 to win the OSSAA Class 3A Boys Basketball State Championship at the OG&E Coliseum at the State Fairgrounds.

Millwood came into the championship game ranked No. 1 in Class 3A and proved why, using relentless defense, transition scoring, and hot shooting to pull away early and never look back. The Falcons built a comfortable first-half lead and continued to extend it in the second half to secure another gold ball for the storied program.

Fast Pace Early

Millwood’s pressure defense created turnovers that quickly turned into points on the other end. The Falcons controlled the tempo from the opening tip, forcing Roland into tough shots while pushing the ball up the floor.

By halftime, Millwood had seized control of the championship matchup and carried that momentum into the second half, where the Falcons’ depth and athleticism overwhelmed the Rangers.

Roland finished the season as state runnerup after a strong tournament run that included a semifinal victory over Rejoice Christian.

For Millwood, however, the night belonged to the Falcons as they celebrated another championship season and continued the program’s legacy of excellence on the hardwood.
