Heritage Home Care Inc. celebrates three years of patient-centered growth in rural Oklahoma

Heritage Home Care Inc. celebrates three years of patient-centered growth in rural Oklahoma

Heritage Home Care Inc., a locally owned and operated home health agency headquartered in Eufaula, is celebrating its third anniversary of serving patients and families across eastern and southeastern Oklahoma. Founded with a mission to bring patient-centered care back to its hometown, the agency has grown into one of the region’s most trusted providers of inhome skilled nursing and therapy services.

When owners Tephanie Mahar and Melanie Mahoney opened the agency’s doors, they began with just two team members and a clear vision: improve access to high-quality care in rural Oklahoma while creating meaningful job opportunities in the City of Eufaula. Today, Heritage Home Care is 36 employees strong, operating a fleet of more than 30 Heritage vehicles and serving 15 Oklahoma counties from two office locations in Eufaula and Poteau, Oklahoma.

In 2026, the agency plans to expand into five additional counties and open one new office, adding new team members to support continued growth and further strengthen rural healthcare coverage.

Rural communities have long faced limited access to in-home healthcare services due to the distance from larger city-based agencies and persistent understaffing in remote areas. Heritage Home Care intentionally focuses on deep rural communities, ensuring consistent staffing and dependable coverage where it is needed most.

That commitment has earned national recognition. Heritage Home Care received the SHP Award, ranking in the top 5% nationally for patient experience. The recognition reflects the agency’s dedication to compassionate, reliable, and high-quality care and its promise to never operate understaffed.

The agency provides a full range of home health services, including: • Skilled nursing care

• Physical therapy

• Occupational therapy • Speech therapy

• Medical social services • Home health aide support All services are delivered in the comfort of a patient’s home to promote healing, independence, and improved quality of life.

The agency celebrated its employee retention. In three years, only three team members have moved on to other positions, with some returning after completing additional schooling. This near-zero turnover rate is virtually unheard of in the medical community and reflects a strong workplace culture and leadership committed to both staff and patients.

As Heritage Home Care Inc. celebrates its third anniversary, the team looks ahead with gratitude and anticipation for many more years of service, growth, and community impact throughout Oklahoma’s rural communities.
