Break out the shamrocks, dust off the tutus and lace up those running shoes, the Eufaula Green Run 5K is back for its sixth year, bringing a splash of Irish spirit to the shoreline of Lake Eufaula.
Hosted by the Lake Eufaula Association, the St. Patrick’s Day–themed race will take place Saturday, March 14, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Eufaula Cove Pavilion on Lakeshore Drive. Runners and walkers will follow a USATF-certified 5K course that winds along the scenic lakefront, offering one of the most picturesque race routes in eastern Oklahoma.
But this race isn’t just about speed, it’s about spirit.
Participants are encouraged to wear green, and many go all out with festive costumes. From leprechaun hats and glittered sneakers to full Irish-themed ensembles, the event has become known as much for its creativity as its competition. Prizes will be awarded for the best St. Patrick’s Day-themed costume, along with a crowd-favorite pet costume contest that always draws smiles.
Organizers say the Green Run continues to grow each year, drawing families, seasoned runners and first-time participants alike. The event promotes health, community involvement and a little friendly competition, all wrapped in a fun, festive atmosphere.
Early registration is encouraged. Those who register by March 1 receive discounted pricing and a guaranteed event T-shirt. After that date, shirts will be available on a first-come, firstserved basis.
Whether you’re chasing a personal best, pushing a stroller, walking with friends or just showing up for the postrace photos, the Green Run offers something for everyone.
Gear up for the 6th annual Green Run.
