Eufaula High School Presents “EHS Goes Hollywood” Drama Awards Banquet and Murder Mystery featuring virtual keynote speaker Don Zolidis The Eufaula High School Speech and Drama Department is rolling out the red carpet for the community at its upcoming Drama Awards Banquet, “EHS Goes Hollywood,” on May 4, 2026, at 6 p.m., in the High School cafeteria.
The evening promises a blend of glitz, intrigue, and high-caliber talent. Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme by dressing as their favorite movie stars or in their finest formal wear for a night of “Hollywood glamour.”
The department is honored to announce that renowned American playwright and author Don Zolidis will be joining the event virtually as the evening’s keynote speaker. A former middle and high school teacher, Zolidis’s work resonates deeply with educational theater; his scripts are consistently among the most-produced plays in American high schools. The connection to his work is especially personal for Eufaula High School: Drama Teacher Selina Dornan is a longtime admirer of his writing, having directed five of his plays during her tenure.
Adding to the evening’s prestige is a gourmet dining experience generously provided by the talented Chef Alex Doiron. In a remarkable show of support for the arts and our students, Chef Doiron is providing her professional services, ensuring that more of the evening’s proceeds go directly toward the drama program. Guests will enjoy “dining in fancy style” with a menu featuring a curated pasta station, fresh Caesar salad, and a decadent dessert station— a true culinary treat for the community.
The event will feature a special “whodunnit” murder mystery performance by EHS Speech and Drama students. In addition to the live entertainment, attendees can participate in a silent auction to support the arts in our schools.
The evening also marks a historic milestone with the unveiling of “The Hansard,” the program’s new official award statue. Named in honor of legendary coach Harry “Ironhead” Hansard, the award recognizes students who demonstrate the strength, dedication, and character required to excel in the performing arts.
