James Finck’s last piece is leaning towards fascism. I don’t know anyone who thinks Trump didn’t win the election, but we do know he got beat in 2020 and instigated an insurrection. The first thing he did last year was pardon over 1,500 of the most vicious, treasonous criminals this country’s ever seen. Finck probably saw no harm there.
Finck’s pieces ooze of elitism. Most conservatives are elitists and narcissists, much like their leader. He whined about comparing Trump to Hitler. Newsflash: it’s not just about immigration; it’s every position he takes. Trump idolizes Hitler and Al Capone. Does Finck?
Finck says everyone should respect ICE. Why should anyone respect “law enforcement” who act as judge, jury and executioner, killing people in cold blood, smashing car windows and dragging people outside simply because they’re not white? Last month, a Hispanic-American citizen was beaten, detained and had his phone taken. After his release, he found his phone in a vending machine for used electronics near an ICE HQ. That’s theft. Finck probably called it heroism.
Finck voiced his support for the Civil Rights Movement. It’s all hollow as his president said recently that white people were “horribly mistreated” during that era, then posts a racist video of the Obamas and refuses to apologize.
Finck whined about protests, slightly mentioning how America was birthed through protests. But like all conservatives, he believes only they have the right to protest. He says he’s afraid “too many Americans…want to tear down America.” He’s right. And it’s the MAGAs and their president he supports who want to do just that.
History’s one thing. Current events are another. And “professor” Finck will never get either one right.
