The Eufaula Area Arts Council awards an annual college scholarship to a graduating student from an accredited high school or home school in the Eufaula, Oklahoma area who demonstrates meaningful involvement with the Council beyond simple attendance at events.
The $1,000 scholarship is designed to foster creativity, build confidence, and empower students as they continue their educational journey. Although awarded in May, the scholarship is disbursed in two installments in September and January. Scholarship recipient Hannah Kennedy attended the Council’s January meeting to receive the final installment.
Hannah is a pre-education major at Oklahoma State University– Okmulgee. “I plan on using my scholarship for required books and gas while attending college,” she said. Hannah commutes from Eufaula to Okmulgee and will attend summer classes. As she continues her education, she also plans to audition for the Sight & Sound Theatre in Branson next December.
