Sue Nell Morgan, 94, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, peacefully transitioned to her eternal rest on January 12, 2026, at her home. Born on August 23, 1931, in Checotah, Oklahoma, she was the cherished daughter of Luther and Violet G. (Prim) Dunegan. Sue graduated from Checotah High School in 1949 and went on to earn her associate’s degree from Connors State College.
On August 15, 1950, Sue married Tracy Lee Morgan in Fort Smith, Arkansas, who preceded her in death on July 4, 1995. During her career, Sue dedicated 25 years as an office clerk for Oklahoma Natural Gas, where her work was a reflection of her commitment and diligence. Sue was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church for more than 60 years, where she found both community and solace.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lea Ann Cook and husband Wayne of Eufaula, OK; her sons, David Morgan and wife Cyndie of Jacksonville, TX, and Scott Morgan of Eufaula, OK; son in law, Gene Cook and wife Jamie; as well as eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Sue’s legacy includes the love of her family and the memories they created together. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Violet Dunegan; her stepfather CM “Doc” Mize; daughter Janice Cook; sister Jo Baker; brother Jean Paul Dunegan; great-granddaughter Jaylea; and great grandson Gavin and great great grandson Traveler.
Sue will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
