It’s a new year and a chance to start over and make the change you need to make. I was asked this question years ago and here is my updated answer to it.
Faith isn’t real if you never put it to work. Is your Christian faith real, practical, demonstrable, and useful? Or is your faith theoretical and untested? Faith is not just something we think, but something that we live out every day. Our faith in Jesus is meant to be put to work in how we live. It guides us in every facet of our lives, every choice we make, everything that we do.
If we have faith that God is at work for our good, then how we live will show it. Jesus said this in Matthew 6:25-27 – “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
Someone once said the secret to happiness is to stop worrying about things that are not under your direct control. That is just about everything. I put my trust in God who has promised to redeem and deliver anyone who calls on His name in faith. I hope that you will start the new year with a new relationship to God. It is as simple as Romans 10:9-10 tell us. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and God has raised Him from the dead and you will be saved!
Jesus cares for us and he proved it through His death and resurrection. He invites you to place your faith in Him and be saved.
