46th Duvall’s Jackpot another success

Checotah hosted the 46th Duvall’s Jackpot this past weekend. The steer-wrestling event brought in competitors from across the nation and beyond. The Duvall family is royalty in the steer-wrestling world. Bill, Roy and Spud Duvall have cemented their place in the sport with numerous championships along with Ote Berry.

“We have a lot of fun here. We’re just a big family and have known each other for years. This is not just a big event for the steer-wrestlers but for their families and friends,” Imogene Duvall said.

Jackpot results were posted in the May 22 McIntosh County Democrat and Eufaula Indian Journal newspapers.
