Janet Elizabeth Casey

Janet Elizabeth Casey, 82, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on December 12, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on July 19, 1943, in Lodi, California, to Otto and Willie Belle (Small) Pirtle. She was raised by her mother and stepfather Wilfred Eldridge. Janet received her education from Canadian Public Schools.

On July 28, 1962, Janet was united in marriage to Richard Donald Casey in Eufaula, Oklahoma, sharing a loving partnership that spanned over 55 years.

Janet dedicated her career to serving others as a home health provider and spent more than 20 years working in a nursing home.

husband, she was a founding member of the Longtown First Apostolic Church in 1983, a community she loved dearly and where she was an active and faithful attendee.

Janet’s legacy will live on through her family.

She is survived by her son, Richard Casey Jr. of the home; daughters Tammy Rogers and husband Stanley Jr. of Crowder, and Janetta Klutts and husband Stanley of Okemah; as well as eight grandchildren: Larry Williams, Megan Grey, Richard Casey III, Sage Richel and husband Jesse, Cheyenne Klutts, Nicholas Casey, Gus Klutts and wife Amanda, and Dalton Rogers.

Janet was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren: Alexia McCoy, Landon Grey, Emilee Grey, Mattie Grey, Shiloh Grey, Keaton Givens, Karsyn Richel, Ketcher Richel and Caydence Richel, Archer Klutts and Tally Klutts.

She is also survived by her brothers Donald Eldridge and wife Catherine of Canadian, Anthony Eldridge and wife Cindy of Muskogee, her sisters Mary Arterberry, Donna Harris and Kathy Decker all of Canadian and a sister-in-law Dian Pirtle of Arizona.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Richard Donald Casey, her daughter Regina Casey, brothers Jerry, Larry, and Allen, and sister Angela Barrows.

A funeral service honoring Janet’s life was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the First Apostolic Church of Longtown, officiated by Pastor Trent Jones and Pastor Gary L. Jones.

Pallbearers included Stanley Rogers, Gus Klutts, Jesse Richel, Richard Casey III, Scott Stephens, and Stacey Rodgers, with Carlton Bass and John Ketcher serving as honorary pallbearers.

Janet was laid to rest at Bower Cemetery, under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
