Copter pilot killed

The pilot of a helicopter doing work in Mayes County was killed in an accident Friday morning.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, pilot Emanuele Tsikoudakis, 56, of Idaho Falls, Id., was hovering above a two-man ground crew pulling lines when the aircraft suddenly flipped over backwards and dove straight into the ground nose first.

The pilot reportedly was guiding the crew so they would not catch a wire.
