Christmas classics shine in Eufaula’s lighted parade
By SHAUNA BELYEU,

GENERAL MANAGER

Main Street sparkled with holiday magic Saturday night as Eufaula kicked off the season with its annual Lighted Christmas Parade, drawing families downtown for an evening of twinkling lights and community cheer.

This year’s theme of Christmas classics brought beloved holiday films to life with a colorful lineup of floats, festive music and costumed characters. From The Polar Express to The Grinch, entries were decked out in dazzling displays, capturing the joy and nostalgia of classic Christmas cinema.

Parade-goers were treated to appearances by holiday favorites, including Santa Claus, The Grinch and Frosty the Snowman, much to the delight of bundled-up children waving glow sticks and sipping hot chocolate along the route.

Each float reflected creativity and attention to detail, showcasing not only the Christmas spirit but also a healthy dose of friendly competition among local businesses and organizations.

After the parade, the crowd gathered for the City of Eufaula’s Christmas tree lighting, where families enjoyed more hot cocoa, live holiday music and photos with Santa beneath the glowing tree. The event marked the official start of the holiday season in Eufaula and offered a joyful set-ting for neighbors to reconnect and celebrate together.

Judges announced the top three floats of the night:

• First place: Wood Co. Outdoor Living

• Second place: Family Dollar

• Third place: Mc-Quay Construction The annual event once again drew residents and visitors alike, ushering in the Christmas season in Eufaula.
