Voices of gratitude: What I’m thankful for

“I am thankful for the love and support of his family and friends, health and the opportunities for my future. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.”
– Eufaula senior, Luke Hodgens

“I’m grateful for my ability to help people in real ways, for the community and mission of Under One Roof that I’ve worked hard to build and for the creativity that lets me bring ideas to life. I’m thankful for the generosity that surrounds me and supports this work, for the small moments of beauty in my day, for my own resilience, and for the impact I’m able to make in the lives of others. Even though the challenges with my son this year, I’m grateful for the growth, strength and deeper understanding that have come from loving him through a hard season.”
– Under One Roof Executive Director, Kim Woodruff.

“I am most thankful for my relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. thankful for family and friends, and a (good life), not a perfect life, but it’s good. and the Denver Broncos’ winning season.”
– Leslie Bassett, K-Mac’s Lavish Looks

“First, I am grateful for the blessings that God has blessed me with. My mom-she’s my biggest fan and is right beside me in everything I do. My dad, sister, Gigi, Nana and Papa, they’ve never missed the chance to support me in all I do. My coaches at Eufaula have been a big part of my life for the past 4 years. Coach Culbreath who talks to me every day.I am very thankful for the offers I’ve received to date to continue my Football career at the college level.Overall, I just feel so blessed with so many people in our small town who have helped me get to where I am today- Mrs. Graham for working with me the last two years when I wasn’t sure which direction I was going as far as school.

Thank you to all the people who have helped make my business successful and the loyal fans of Ironhead Football who showed up every Friday night through the good and bad games.”
– Eufaula senior, Blayden Neil

“I have so much to be thankful for, but I think I am most thankful for the connections I’ve made. When you are an only child, connections to family and friends become more important as you age and lose loved ones. I’m thankful for my family, which includes those friends who became family along the way. Family isn’t always about blood, but about those who show love and kindness.”
– Shryl Hulme ,Under One Roof

“I am so thankful for the grace that God gives us in Jesus Christ. One of my favorite verses that reminds me of this great grace is Ephesians 2:4-5 [4] But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, [5] even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.”
– Eufaula Mayor James Hickman

“I am thankful for all my coaches, Coach Luna for stepping up as our defensive coordinator, and helping me learn and lead the middle linebacker position. Coach Newton for making my senior year fun and appreciating my playing. I’m thankful for my team and grateful to finish the game with them. I’m thankful for my dad, as he was always there on the sidelines if I ever needed EXTRA coaching. Thankful for my mom who always made sure I was packed, well-fed before and after the games, and for cleaning my smelly clothes. Thankful for my Grandma, who always made sure she was there and taking videos or photos. My siblings for being there, yes, Jana, I’m talking about you. Thankful for the band who always played their hearts out: Kylar and Keegan. Thankful for my Girlfriend who kept my head clear.”
– Eufaula senior Jax Hickman

“I am grateful for this community and their love and support . I am grateful that God teaches me to love selflessly and without expectation. I am grateful for the daily necessities that we take for granted. I am thankful for personal freedoms,”
– Paula Fox, Fox Place
