Downtown to shine bright for Lights on Eufaula
By Shauna Belyeu General Manager

The countdown to Christmas begins in downtown Eufaula this Friday, November 21, as Lights on Eufaula returns for an evening packed with festive fun, small-town charm, and holiday cheer.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Main Street will transform into a holiday haven, with music echoing through the streets, kids bouncing on inflatables, and the community gathering to welcome the season together. At exactly 5:45 p.m., the downtown lights will flicker to life, officially kicking off the Christmas countdown.

This year’s Grand Marshal is a familiar face to many Oklahomans. News On 6 anchor Lori Fullbright, known for her dedication to local stories and community impact, will join in the fun and lead the evening’s festivities with holiday spirit and hometown pride.

The celebration includes live performances by local favorites Ave Rose Johnson and Tucker Leathers, and of course, Christmas melodies from The Pride of Eufaula Marching Band. Their energy is sure to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Young guests can look forward to five different inflatables and a special meet-and-greet with Santa Claus at the city’s colorful 3D mural. It’s a picture-perfect spot for families to snap some early holiday photos.

Those wanting to enjoy the twinkle of lights without walking the whole stretch can hop on one of the trolley rides rolling through downtown — a cozy way to take in all the sights and sparkle.

Just down the street, Legacy on Main Street will be opening its doors for a special holiday experience that’s sure to bring out the inner child in every visitor. At 6:15 p.m., guests are invited to step into a world of whimsy at Welcome to Whoville, a Grinch-themed event that brings the classic Christmas tale to life.

Located at 224 N. Main Street, the Whoville adventure includes themed décor, fun photo opportunities, and a chance to meet some very familiar green-faced characters. Whether you’re a fan of the Grinch or just love a playful twist on the holidays, it’s a stop you won’t want to miss.

Local shops will stay open throughout the evening, offering deals, treats, and warm welcomes. It’s the perfect night to shop local, support local, and find those one-of-a-kind gifts while keeping your holiday dollars close to home.

Lights on Eufaula is the kind of event that reminds us what makes small towns so special. So mark your calendars for Nov. 21, bring your family and friends, and come celebrate the season the Eufaula way — with lights, laughter, and plenty of holiday spirit.
