The 2nd annual Spooky Dance, cosponsored by Eufaula Area Arts and the Eufaula Performing and Arts Club (EPAC), brought chills, laughter, and plenty of dancing to the community this past weekend in the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce Building.
Around 20 spirited guests gathered for an evening filled with lively music, flashing strobe lights, delicious snacks, and the ever-popular “Monster Mash.” The event featured a festive atmosphere that combined fun, creativity, and community spirit.
High school students joined in the excitement, showing off their best moves and most imaginative costumes during the theatrical boardwalks.
The Costume Contest was a highlight of the evening, with top honors awarded to:
• 1st Place: Jacobo Perez as Dracula
• 2nd Place: James Burns as the Man in the Yellow Hat from Curious George
• 3rd Place: Fallon Pryor as the Reaper Additional awards were presented for the Funniest Costume, Scariest Costume, and Best Couple’s Costume, the latter won by Kyah Lynn and James Burns.
No EPAC volunteer took home a prize, but their efforts shone behind the scenes. Special recognition goes to Charles Matney, Chloe Michener, and Akia McDonald, who played key roles in organizing the Spooky Dance and ensuring its success.
The evening concluded with a lively pizza party, leaving guests in high spirits and already anticipating next year’s event.
A heartfelt thankyou goes out to all the volunteers who helped make the night possible: Naomi Kennedy, Hanna Kennedy, Dianne Odom, Selina Dornan, Jim Dornan, Deanna Sebastian, Julie Farrow, and Glenna Mc-Bride. Their dedication and support continue to keep Eufaula’s arts community thriving.
