Don Nichols with the Military Order of the Purple Heart announced a special wreath laying ceremony that will honor the lives of veterans who lost their lives in Vietnam. The ceremony will take place at the National Monument in Tahlequah, OK, on Veterans Day, November 11 at 1:30 p.m. at 2001 S. Muskogee Ave. Family members are encouraged to participate in the ceremony and the laying of the wreaths.
This one-of-a-kind monument, which was established to honor all veterans, is directly connected to the Virtual Wall database. The Virtual Wall includes detailed information about each person who lost their lives in Vietnam. It includes the branch of service, hometown, rank, casualty date and personal reflections or photos submitted by family members of their fallen loved one who gave all. Visitors to the monument can scan the newly installed QR codes to access data to the Virtual Wall.
Nichols hopes the community will come out and honor these veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom the United States has today.
